Quality Management Procedures
ECSOL Limited offers generic Quality Management Procedures related to Site Investigations, principally those associated with contamination status assessment where samples are required to be removed to a laboratory for analysis; nonetheless, the ideology applies to site investigation in general. The procedures can be adopted into your existing Management System, they can form the basis of a new Management System, or they can be used to provide your customers and the regulators with assurance that you are adhering to best practice.
The procedures available are:
- PLANNING SITE INVESTIGATIONS (12 page MS Word Document)
- GENERAL QUALITY CONTROL REQUIREMENTS ON SITE (6 page MS Word Document)
- SAMPLING REQUIREMENTS (38 page MS Word Document), and
- GENERAL HEALTH AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS (5 page MS Word Document)
Planning Site Investigations is designed specifically for you to follow best management practices in the design and implementation of a high-quality field sampling program strategy and laboratory selection.

Sampling Requirements details the equipment to be used to procure the various site samples for analysis; permitted equipment and container materials are listed by parameter of interest, on-site preservation is specified with respect to the maximum storage time and conditions allowable before analysis; where possible, alternative preservation is provided which invariably extends the pre-analysis sample storage time.

ECSOL has developed the SAMPLING REQUIREMENTS DATABASE PROGRAMME, using the Microsoft Excel programme, which provides the information needed to ensure sample deterioration is minimised prior to chemical or microbiological analysis. Recommended container type, on-site preservation, and storage conditions are defined, for a selection of numerous chemical and microbiological parameters. All you have to do is to choose the sample type and parameter of interest from a series of drop-down lists, with a few simple clicks of your mouse. The programme embraces Groundwater, Surface Water, Wastewater, Drinking Water, Soil and Sediment samples. A FREE trial version of the software is available - SEE BELOW.
Heath and Safety Requirements provides an overview of the necessary measures to be adopted during a site investigation, and may be used as the basis when drawing up the Site Investigation Heath and Safety Plan (HASP).
